Location-Based Mobile Advertising

Description:

Geofencing lets you target potential customers using mobile phone ads served based on specific locations that your audience visits. Target visitors at competitor locations, event venues, and more!

How does geofencing work?

We use mobile technology to pinpoint where a person is and once they enter a zone you have selected, ads are served in various apps and websites within the advertising network.

Visitors who visited a certain location can be tagged and targeted up to 30 days after visiting the location.

Examples of geofencing campaigns:

  • Geofencing for Home Builders:
A home builder wants to draw potential home buyers that are visiting their competitor’s communities or real estate offices.

  • Geofencing for Retailers:
A retailer wants to run a customer loyalty program, so they build geofencing around their own stores to drive repeat customers and buyers.
  • Geofencing Trade Shows:
A trade show exhibitor wants to advertise at an event to reach people while they are on-site and up to 30 days later.
  • Addressable Geofencing:
Gain repeat business by advertising with your existing prospect or customer mailing lists.

How is Geofencing reported or tracked afterwards? What information is in the report?

  • Our standard geofencing report will show the amount of impressions, clicks and CTR within the allotted time frame.

What is the on-boarding process and any documents/forms needed?

  • Onboarding will be conducted by the campaign manager within the first few days of receiving the order. We will need to know the areas we will be targeting and the associated landing page URLs. You can provide us with the display ads (or we can create them for $99 – each set).

Is there a formula for sizing a business such as a restaurant? Which is needed, 10k or 25k impressions?

  • For geo-fencing a local business, we recommend the 10K package. Additional impressions should be pushed to programmatic ads.
  • Larger packages are recommended when targeting multiple cities and larger geographies.

How will the ads be served up for potential customers? Which apps?

  • Ads will be served on mobile devices on websites and mobile apps. Apps will vary from dating apps, gaming apps, weather apps, utilities apps, etc. It will vary depending on what a person will be using within that geo-fence.

What is the difference between geofencing and programmatic?

  • The main difference is that programmatic uses IP addresses and geo-fencing works off the navigation of a mobile device for a more precise location.
  • Programmatic can target audiences on both desktop and mobile, while geo-fencing is limited to mobile devices.
  • Programmatic also allows you to target by behavioural tactics, while geofencing is designed to showcase to everyone within that area.

Can Geofencing be used as a primary tactic for my client?

  • Geo-fencing should be combined with other marketing programs as a secondary product if targeting local businesses. It can only be a primary marketing channel for businesses with greater reach.
